I met Marji as I was transitioning from Med/Surg and Telemetry to Perioperative Nursing. It was a big change because the two departments were vastly different, but Marji made the daunting task of learning an entirely foreign style of nursing possible. Marji is not only knowledgeable in her craft, she is also warm and personable. She taught us from experience and with so much compassion which really helped my cohort feel welcome in the unknown.

I am writing to provide my highest recommendation for Marji, who worked alongside of me as a nurse in pre- op pacu and inter op. It has been a pleasure working with her and to witness firsthand the dedication, compassion and skills she brings to the patients. During our time together, Marji demonstrated critical judgement, and remained calm under pressure. Marji was a joy to work with!!

Working with Marji was one of the best training programs I have ever encountered so far in my career. Marji always went the extra mile and helped me be my best self. When I had health and home life concerns, Marji not only acted as a mentor to me but also became a confidant and helped me move through everything as smoothly as possible while being completely judgement free. It is because of her support that I was able to continue my training and see myself for the nurse that I could be if I trusted my instincts and stopped second guessing myself. I will always look back on my training with her fondly and know that even to this day, I could reach out to her for advice and she wouldn't even bat an eye. Marji's big smile and warm nature create such a welcoming environment which truly helped myself and my cohort be at ease in unknown territory while we transitioned to our new roles as OR nurses. Marji was & still is such a great figure that I look up to in my life. She's someone that years from now, I'll look back on & remember all she did to shape my career. She helped build me & my classmates as a new grad OR nurse. I remember Marji's kindness & support from not only my first interview but my entire time as a Periop student & beyond. Marji has such valuable experience which she shared with all the students & helped build the nurses we are today. I always appreciated Marji's willingness to really listen. I always felt supported by Marji, I knew that if I went to her with a problem she wouldn't dismiss me, she would listen & give me the tools to isolate what the real issue is & solve the problem. Being a new grad nurse in the OR is not easy, however having Marji's unconditional support was what helped me get through it. I can go on & on about how much respect I have for Marji & all she has done for us, but will end with this, my class & I are forever grateful for Marji who not only believed in us & handpicked us to do this, but helped us grow into the OR nurses we are today.

I had the privilege of being trained by Marji as part of a six-month perioperative education program, and I truly cannot recommend her enough. Her knowledge and experience as a perioperative education coordinator are exceptional, and she has a gift for making complex concepts approachable and even fun to learn. She created a balanced learning experience that combined both individualized support and team-based training, allowing me to grow in confidence and competence as a circulating nurse. Her passion for the OR is infectious, and she played a huge role in growing my own love for the operating room and perioperative nursing as a whole.
